78 Waste Banks in Central Jakarta Reactivated

There are totally 249 waste banks in Central Jakarta

As many as 78 waste banks in eight sub-districts, Central Jakarta have been reactivated marked by the ongoing activity of weighing garbage since the beginning of June.

Central Jakarta Environment (LH) Sub-agency Head Marsigit mentioned those 78 waste banks were located in Gambir (14 points), Tanah Abang (8 points), Menteng (5 points), Senen (6 points), Cempaka Putih (15 points), Johar Baru (7 points), Kemayoran (14 points), Sawah Besar (8 points) and parent waste bank (1 point).

Waste Banks in Jakarta Increases into 637 Units

"There are totally 249 waste banks in Central Jakarta. They are divided into three categories, namely office waste banks, residential waste banks and school waste banks. Unfortunately the school waste banks have not been active at all," he expressed, Tuesday (7/14).

He furthered, residential waste banks in his region, there were 101 points, comprising 72 points of office waste banks and 75 points of school waste banks. During the pandemic, the activity in every waste bank was required to follow health protocols such as wearing masks, providing a place to wash hands and maintaining physical distancing.

"We always urge them to always implement health protocols. This is for the common good," he stated.
